- Yellow-gold, light and the sun
- In Islam, golden yellow represents wisdom and good advice
- Pale yellow represents deceit and betrayal
- In Egypt, yellow is color of envy and disgrace
- In Europe, yellow is color of cowardice
- In China, yellow is the color of royalty
- The most visible color, used internationally for warning
- Treacherous yellow signified betrayal and treachery since Middle Ages
- Judas shown in yellow at betrayal
- Imperial Yellow, in China, is symbolized of masculine principal
- Yang, and power of the Sun
- During Ch'ing dynasty (1644-1911) only the emperor could wear yellow
- 18th century throne cushion yellow, decorated with dragons, emblem of emperor
- Festive yellow, during Somavati Amavasya Festival in India
- Pilgrims scatter turmeric powder over god Kandoba, representing Sun's power
- Festival marks conjunction of Sun & Moon Power (new moon) when it falls on a Monday

4.4.1.2 Medicine Stone: Fire Opal (Wilson VFEM 13)
- Found near hot springs, in volcanic cavities, and sedimentary rock
- Has tendency to lose water that is in it
- Fractures easily, for no apparent reason
- Believed to render wearer invisible when not desired to be seen
- Fire in stone can symbolize sunrise, sunset, moonrise
- Connected with powers of the sun, moon, and fire
- Was considered to be a noble stone in Rome
- A part of crown jewels in France
- Also in the imperial cabinet in Vienna
- Considered unlucky in most English-speaking countries
- But considered as precious in Northwest (America)
- Some lose fire if exposed to water; others lose fire if not exposed to water
- Fire Opal people are found near hot springs, places of pressure
- Can fracture easily; are very emotional
- Must use their energies wisely if they are to be successful
- Often fear complexities of their own and others emotions
4.4.1.3 Animal Totem: Red-Tailed Hawk (Wilson VFEM 28)
- Flies high; soars and circles for long periods
- Fantastic acrobats, especially when mating; keenness of vision
- Hunter, loves rattlesnake meat - will tear their heads off
- Known as "Little Eagles"; attacked by smaller birds
- Amerindian tribes use feathers in ceremonies for rain
- Also for gifts of vision, deliberation, and foresight
- Hawk people tend to be fearless
- Go after rattlesnakes of this world; usually have difficult time with Snake people
- They tear the heads off of their enemies
- Are beautiful to watch when in flight performing spiritual acrobatics
- Are strong-willed, energetic, determined, independent thinkers
- Soar high, close to the Creator
- Need to learn patience and stability in order to balance their energies
- Make good leaders once they learn how to channel their energies
- Learn to stay with something as long as it needs them
- Can spend long durations of time in concentration, have keen vision, insightful
4.4.1.4 Plant Totem: Dandelion (Wilson VFEM 43-44)
- Found in lawns everywhere
- Little yellow flower becomes ball of white fuzz that blows off in wind
- Medicine power: entire plant useful, root is medicinal part
- Dig up root and all after blooming
- Root can be dried, ground, useful as a coffee substitute or herbal remedy
- Soak young greens in salt water for half hour before cooking
- Contain 7x vitamin A as carrots, almost as much vitamins B, C, G
- Also almost as much calcium, phosphorous, iron, natural sodium
- Helps to purify and alkalize bloodstream
- May be useful as tonic, diuretic, or sedative
- Dandelion people have tendency to pop up all over the place
- Fly from one project to another
- Can be quite useful when channeled correctly
- Have power to open and cleanse ideas and people they touch
- Have tendency to be headstrong
- Have congestion problems, need their own medicine
