- When the people needed meat, the buffalo gave its meat

- The white buffalo is very rare
- It was considered to be a sacred messenger
- It represented the spirit that gave totally of itself and its essence
- It was the White Buffalo Woman who brought the sacred pipe to the people

- The white buffalo brought the renewal of both body and spirit
- And the purity of his presence to purify the thoughts of all who saw him
